This exhibition was conceptualized as part of Ahmady's ongoing curatorial project entitled The Taste of Others, intended at promoting artists of Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan & Afghanistan). As New York City's first major exhibition from the region, The Paradox of Polarity offered a small survey of the numerous and richly varied forms of art flourishing in Central Asia today.
